Gifted musicians aren’t always gifted teachers
Being a gifted musician and being a gifted teacher are two very different skills, and both must be possessed in order to effectively teach an instrument. Many music schools are filled with remarkably gifted musicians, but not all gifted musicians can teach and connect with students effectively. Many teachers have a hard time bringing themselves to a child’s level and are unable to relate in a way beginners can easily understand.
